1. Weak Battery. If your Transit Connect’s engine won’t crank or cranks very slowly, then the most likely culprit is a weak or dead 12v battery. Investigating more closely and doing a battery voltage test will clarify whether the starting problem is due to the battery. A test can be done to measure the voltage between the battery poles
Hi I have a Ford Focus 2007 1.8 ghia car won’t start Immobiliser light flashes won’t turn over or anything. I have a ford focus 2006 1.8 tdci. Replace the fuse, and the car should start. If you have an older model with a choke, it is possible the engine is flooded with gas and can't start. If the car cranks but does not start, it is likely the fuel pump needs replacing. When you turn the key to the ignition point, you should hear a whirring noise, which is the fuel pump switching on.
Its a known issue and cars up to 03/02 had an EGR valve fitted that sticks open, causing starting problems and black smoke. Ford have a TSB about it.
