Never thought I would have electronic issue with a Hyundai i30. Unfortunately I recently became victim of the i30 immobilizer problem. After purchasing it from a auto wholeseller 10 months ago and after only 2 months out of warranty! (warranty expire in March and issue starts to happen in May).

Only code it blinks is P1693, what is strange it does not blink the second P done or any other codes. I have checked the fuel drainback valve in the pump, and cracked the lines to make sure the air is out of the lines. I also checked ECM voltage and APPS voltage and even reset it. All wiring seems to be good.

The engine can be started after confirming the authentication of the key from the SMARTRA3. The key programming procedure is initiated by the PCM / ECM with a PIN code request from the scanner. A “clean” PCM / ECM unit saves the PIN, then proceeds to register the keys. The registered PCM / ECM compares the PIN code received from the scanner

The only thing the 1693 code is telling you is that you have another code. It is called a companion code. What ever tool you used to get the codes did not get answers from both computers. The good news is that right now the VP is ok. The bad news is that you still have a code and then you will find out what your problem is.
