If you are experiencing a crash after the intro video, you can try the workaround below to fix it: Navigate to these folders: " SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\Native\GUI and "SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\SandBox\GUI ".
Please remove the file located at: \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\SandBox\ModuleData\Languages\CN and try again. When I launch the modding kit from either steam or desktop shortcut I get the normal game menu to choose either singleplayer or multiplayer, the game is up to date and I turned off all the mods, but either on singleplayer or multiplayer the modding kit just won't open up, nothing happens, no crash report or anything

Hope it worked out! I'm having the same issue as OP, but I'm not sure how to roll my game version back to 1.6.2 (currently on 1.6.5) If you go to the properties for Bannerlord (right click on it in your steam library), then the "Betas" tab, you can select whichever version you want. jhskzpu.
