Then head to Guild Halls, Home Instance, Flax Farm, Bloodstone Fen or whatever to gather ressources. Not the fastest way but definitely help a lot! I gathered around 4000 that way since Patch day.

Hmm.. for F2P, the fastest way and not boring I think is by joining the world boss train (ofc you need to unlock the waypoint first). You get big amount of exp and somewhat good equipment with a chance of ascended gear. Note: use any kind of exp boost (food, utilities, guild buff, booster, banner) if available.
